distributor Meilleures Marques was looking to automate its field
sales force. It selected Beefive Technologies who provided the
company with a customized remote order entry package that allowed
its sales force to scan products or shelves at customer locations.
This was achieved by simply entering the desired quantities, and
transmitting the data to head office via a built in modem embedded
in a Telxon PTC 710 portable transaction computer. A receiving
package from DDS was installed at head office to capture the data
and relay it to the computerized accounting and billing system.
The
system now allows Meilleures Marques to cut down on order errors
taken from manual pen and paper methods, which in turn leads to
increased customer satisfaction. It also reduces costs for products
returned to the distribution centre due to inaccurate order taking.
Additional savings occur with the elimination of manual order
entry costs at head office.
